The short version: your photos and videos never leave your device. Compressly has no accounts, no ads, and no servers of its own. The only data connected to you is your purchase history, which Apple and our subscription provider process so your Premium access works.
All compression and conversion happens locally on your device. Your media files are never uploaded, transmitted, or stored anywhere outside your device by this app. We cannot see them, and neither can anyone else through us.
Compressly does not require an account, does not collect your name, email address, contacts, or location, and does not show ads or use advertising trackers.
If you buy Premium (a subscription or lifetime unlock), payment is processed entirely by Apple. To activate and maintain your access, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription-management service, which receives:
We use this information to deliver what you paid for, handle restores, and understand aggregate sales. It is not sold, and it is not used to advertise to you. RevenueCat's own practices are described in the RevenueCat Privacy Policy; Apple's are in the Apple Privacy Policy.
Apple may share standard, aggregated crash and usage diagnostics with us if you have opted in to sharing analytics with app developers in your device settings. These reports do not identify you.
Because we hold no account data, there is nothing to delete on our side beyond purchase records, which are retained as long as needed to service your purchase and meet legal obligations. Deleting the app removes all locally stored app data from your device. To exercise any data request regarding purchase records, contact us at the address below.
Depending on where you live (including the EU/EEA, UK, and California), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information and to object to certain processing. Since the app holds almost no personal information, most requests concern purchase records — email us and we will respond within the timelines required by applicable law. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act.
Compressly is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
If our practices change, this page will be updated and the effective date revised. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
